Using the built-in focus timer (Pomodoro) in Locodo

Locodo focus timer running on a task

A to-do list tells you what to do; a focus timer helps you actually do it. Locodo has a Pomodoro-style timer built right in — and unlike most apps, it's completely free. Here's how to use it.

What is the Pomodoro technique?

Work in focused intervals (classically 25 minutes) separated by short breaks. The ticking clock creates gentle urgency that fights procrastination, and the scheduled breaks keep you fresh. Locodo builds this in and connects it to your tasks.

Start a focus session

  1. Tap the timer icon in the top corner of the Tasks screen — or open a task and choose Start a focus session to focus on that specific item.
  2. Press Start. A calm ring counts down your focus interval.
  3. When it ends, Locodo rolls into a short break, then back to focus. Every few sessions you get a longer break automatically.

It knows your tasks

When you focus on a task, the minutes you spend are credited back to it — so your effort is tracked without any extra bookkeeping. Pair this with the per-task time estimates to plan realistic days.

💡 Tune the lengths to fit you. In the timer you can adjust the focus and break durations — try 25/5 to start, or 50/10 for deep work.
